2 Chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
KJV
One of the biggest problems for Christians in America today is that we love our wicked ways. We can look at the nation and point out all the wrongs, the blatant sins that are committed with out regard to God or the Bible. We can see all the wrong, but then we partake in it as well. How do we do that? We watch with open eyes on the TV acts of immorality, we rent movies, we listen to music that promotes sin, we participate in sin without touching it with our hands but our hearts and minds are destroyed by it. Until the Christian turns from his sin the nation will never turn from sin. Could you imagine what would take place in our lives if we as the Bible instructs would set no evil thing before our eyes? What is we turned our ears away from the foul language we allow in our homes through the TV and rented movies? What is we turned our eyes away from the adultery and fornication that we allow in our homes through the TV and rented movies? What if we turned off every suggestion of a homosexual relationship we allow into our homes through the TV and rented movies? What is we turned off all the rock, country, hip hop and ungodly music? Would that make a difference in our lives? If you think you have no problem with any of these things then take this simple test, turn away from them every time they come up on the TV, turn off the music that promotes sin, turn away from them just for a day and see how much you miss them. You will not miss what has no hold on you, but you will struggle with putting away something that grips your heart and mind. Take the test.
