Heb 1:1-4 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
KJV
How thankful I am today that God chose to speak in times past through the prophets, then the apostles to man. Thankful today because those words were recorded, the very words of God, and then preserved by the one who gave them for all time in the Bible. What if God had only spoken through angels to each individual, or through dreams to each individual? Then each individual would have his own interpretation of what the angel or dream meant. But God spoke through His Word, a Word that was recorded, written down for all to see, a Word preserved for us today? Are you going to spend some time in His Word today, take time to hear from God, take time to think about what He said, take time to meditate upon His Word. This is still how God speaks, not through angels, not through dreams, but through the written Word. And we have that Word, His Word In the King James Bible. I will read this morning what God said to a [prophet thousands of years ago and I will know that God is saying it to me today. How I thank him for His Word.
