Hos 7:15-1615 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.
16 They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

In battle at that time the army depended upon the bowman like the army depends upon air support today. The man with the bow on the wall could occupy the enemy while the foot soldier charged into the fight. Or they could wait until the bowman depleted the enemy until they charged. But if the bow would not shoot the arrow on a straight line all could be lost. A deceitful bow could spell ruin for all, not just the bowman. Think back to what we have been looking at. Keep the oven ready, the caked turned, for if your bow is deceitful not only will you fall but it could lead to the ruin of others around you.
