August 30th, 2016 by Pastor SolleyEccl 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
KJV
Reading these words the Holy Spirit of God used Solomon to write might lead one to the conclusion that Solomon found the secret to a happy life and lived one in the Lord. But that is not true for Solomon lived his life more after the pattern we find in Ecc 2 which we looked at yesterday. Yes, Solomon did come to the right conclusion but it was after many wasted and empty years. When one serve self, when one serve the world it is certain that life is empty and unfulfilled. Yet when one serves the Lord they do find purpose in life, contentment and fulfillment. What then is the conclusion of the matter? Serve God when you are young, continue as you grow older, and then in the declining years continue to serve the Lord in any way that you can. I know senior saints today who are wondering why they are still here in this world when they cannot do what they once did. What they once did can be replaced with a deeper prayer life and they can continue serving the Lord. Find the whole duty of man, find it in serving the Lord.
