2 And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

I want to look at a few things concerning Joseph in this chapter this week, things found in Josep that are missing in our youth of today. Most would know of Joseph to this point, a favored son of his father, hated by his brothers, sold as a slave in Egypt. Joseph was a teenager at this time, late teens. The first thing I want to take note of is found in verse 3 this morning, the Lord was with Joseph. Why was the Lord with Joseph? Because Joseph was with the Lord. Joseph had a good relationship with the Lord as a teenager. This is rare among our teenagers today. Most have a good relationship with friends, with the smart phone, with the DVD and the CD, but few have any real concern for a relationship with the Lord. A large part of the blame here falls upon the parents because they have provided the smart phones, the DVD, the CD, the PC and so on and allow them to use them without limits or supervision. We have our summer Bible camp next week and one reason some teens will not attend is because we do not allow the campers to have cell phones. We have allowed our young people to become addicted to the things of the world and have not pushed them to Jesus in the ways that we should, in the ways that the Bible demands. Prov 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. This is the command of the Bible but today more young people will know how to run the PC, how to access the internet for everything, but cannot tell you even how many books are in the Bible. God was with Joseph because Joseph was with God.
