Num 2:1-4 And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
2 Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father’s house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch.
3 And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies: and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be captain of the children of Judah.
4 And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.
KJV
Here we find the order of march for the children of Israel. Through this chapter God sets each of the tribes in order around the tabernacle. When they rested God gave each of them a place and when they marched God gave each of them a place, each man under his own standard. Thee is a few things to note about this and one of them is the tabernacle was protected on all sides, no side was left unguarded. There is a lesson there, an important lesson for the Christian today in that we need protect the standard, protect out standard. But what is our standard? Is it the Cherry Corner Bible Church? Is it Baptist principals and practices? Is it the UMC, or the reformed church, what is our standard? Our standard needs to be the Word of God, the gospel message, and the Lord Jesus Christ, this is our standard. And it is a standard that needs protection. Consider first how man has perverted the Word of God with the many different Bible perversions on the scene today. God only gave one Word, one, not many, and there is only one Bible, the King James Bible of 1611. The NIV, ASB, NASB, and all the others are not of God, they are the bibles of men and Satan as they take away from the Word of God and add as they see fit. God warned about this in the books of Deut. Proverbs, and Revelation, not to add or subtract from his Word. This we need to protect, the Bible is our standard. The versions present a mixed message, God gave one clear one and that needs to be the standard we march around today.
