Prov 30:5-8 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
7 Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:
8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:

The true conservative, the spiritual conservative, wants only what God wants for him or her. Notice their prayer is that God give them that which in convenient for them. (Verse 8) This is in stark contrast to the liberal mind, to the liberal thinking of our day. The liberal mind is to have all that one deserves, all that one can get, most of the time apart from working for it. But consider what we deserve, what we can get without working for it. Man born in sin deserves hell, and we don’t have to do any work to gain it. It is not the evil deeds of people that sentence them to hell, it is the sin nature one is born with. If an individual never committed an outward act of sin in their life they would still end up in hell. Why? Because of the sin nature that we are born with. I know this has little to do with conservatism, but it lies at the heart of liberalism today. The liberal does not want what God has for them, they want things that are given to them not matter the cost and most of the time it is costing them their soul because they never think of God, never deal with the sin problem in their life. The thing is, if they looked to Jesus Christ they would gain something and never have to work for it.
