John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
Matt 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Matt 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
Matt 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
KJV
Jesus had to endure much to finish the work the Father gave Him to do, to finish the work He came to do. One thing that gets lost is the constant pressure placed upon Him by Satan and the constant unbelief and mocking by those He came to redeem. There are times when we as Christians may get tired in the fight, tired in the battle that is set before us. I am sure that Jesus became wearied with the constant attack of Satan, but Jesus never gave in and Jesus never quit. We also get frustrated many times, at least I do, by the unbelief and actions of those lost in sin and the world. This I am sure frustrated Jesus as well, yet Jesus never stopped trying to reach the lost, never stopped giving of Himself. All the way to the cross Jesus was willing to forgive and to save. The last act of Jesus was an act of forgiveness to one who had mocked Him just a short time before. Jesus finished and Jesus finished well. I wonder if the Lord, if my Lord will be able to say that about me? Will He be able to say it about you?
