Ps 55:17-23 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
18 He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.
19 God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.
20 He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.
21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.

Verse 18 is one of our memory verses for this month at Cherry Corner and each time I say it I am reminded of the battle we are in as Christians. Things are so different now in the world we live in for as we get closer and closer to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ the battle becomes more fierce it seems on a daily basis. Think of how we as Christians are being attacked on every front. Satan attacks, society attacks, our government attacks, we are in a fight, in a battle that grows larger and more fierce daily. We already see Christian run business forced to compromise their beliefs and practices or be fined in such a way that they must close their doors. The LGBT agenda is not that one tolerate that sinful lifestyle, but that one embraces it, and down the road be forced to praise it. Our elected officials at the present are anti-Christian. The next step will be to try and silence Bible preachers and churches. We are in a battle, but why? Because of what we find in verse 19, there is no fear of God. The unbeliever in my lifetime has gone from at the least having a respect for God and the Bible to the point of having absolutely no fear of God. I wish Satan could be blamed for this entirely, that we could place it all on him and that is where it begins. But I have also seen in my lifetime the Christian loose that fear of God and there is the problem. If there is little or no fear of God found in the professing believer in Christ then why should the lost fear Him at all? I want to look for a few days at the Holiness of God, the person of God, and why we as Christians should fear Him, yes fear Him. If we have no fear of God, why should the lost fear Him at all?
