1 John 3:18-21 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
KJV
The great test of love is not to love in word, but in deed and in truth. Anyone can say they love someone one, but to show that love is the test of that love as we have been looking at all this past week. I stand at a point in my live where I can look back, look back on 36 years as a husband, 33 years as a father, and most important 57 years as a Christian. When people look at me I wonder do they know that I have loved my wife, my children, and most important my savior? Has my love passed the test, or do people wonder if I really love those that I say I love? It is never too late to begin to show your love, to love in deed and in truth and not just by words. It is important that your wife know that you love her, that your children know that you love them and not just because you say the words. It is even more important that we show the world that we love Jesus Christ by our actions. You see He already knows the measure of your love for Him because He knows your heart. Does your love pas the test?
