Kings 19:1-4 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.
And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

Satan will attack us when we are worn down as we saw yesterday, Satan will also attack from places we expect it the least. Now Jezebel was no friend of Elijah and the prophet knew that, but Elijah had just defeated and slain the prophets of the idol by the power and hand of God, had just dealt with Ahab, he may have thought that fight was over. What could come from the king now that would harm the prophet? His wicked wife. How could a man such as Elijah stand before the king, stand before the prophets of Baal, and then run from a rebellious woman? In part because he did not expect it. Friend we need to be always on the watch for Satan will attack from places we do not expect. It may not be from the side of wickedness as it was with Elijah, it may be from some we consider our closest friends, but Satan will attack from places we don’t expect. When that happens and it does take us by surprise we still look to the Lord, look to the one who is our hope and stay.
