Mark 4:37-41 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

According to many of the five and seven day forecasts there is a storm coming to our area over the next few days. People now are preparing for the storm, getting snow blowers or plows in working order, making sure they have shovels and salt, even putting in extra groceries and the like, people want to be prepared. To bad they don’t make as many preparations for the storms of life that come our way. There will be clouds on our horizons, storms upon the sea of life, we know this to be true do we not? Yet what preparations do we make? Our you reading your Bible daily, do you spend time in prayer and meditation upon the things of God? Is God used to hearing your voice, seeing you upon your knees, are you listening for Him and seeking God out? These things make us ready for the storms of life. They do not make us welcome them, but they do make us ready for them. I do not look forward to three feet of snow, to high winds, to ice and cold, but I am ready for it. I have the snow blower working, have a good amount of salt to melt the ice, a good supply of wood to heat the house, I am ready. Just as I am ready for a winter storm I need to be ready for the storms of life.
