2 Kings 13:21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
KJV
It may very well seem that the days of revival, even the hope of revival have passed. All around us we see dead churches and spiritually deficient Christians and I am not pointing fingers for I am often one of them. Can there be revival today? In our veer a man fallen in battle cast into a tomb because they did have time for a proper burial. Surely they intended to return and retrieve the body of the man, take him home and bury him, but a strange thing happened, when the dead man’s body came in contact with the bones of Elisha he revived, he sprang to life again! Elisha had been long dead, surely there was no power left in the man of God, but there was, there was still the power of God present. The power of God is still present today, we just seldom look for or even want it. When we get to the point that we have had enough of this world, enough of the flesh, and are willing to die to it, then perhaps we will be touched by what has been long thought dead and revive. Do we want revival? Are we willing to be touched by the power of God? Some think that power is gone, personally I do not.
