Phil 2:1-4 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
KJV
Another reason people are unthankful today is because they are so self-centered. That is not the same as being selfish. A self-centered individual will always focus on themselves and often upon the problems they have with no regard for how they have been blessed or the needs of others worse off then they are. I will visit individuals and listen as they recite chapter and verse every problem in their lives going back years. They tell me about ever ache and pain they have, they can’t sleep at night, can’t move in the day and so on. As I look at those people I think in my mind that I know dozens of people worse off and those people just keep going. I watch the older ones come into our church service after service, people in their 80’s and 90’s and they always greet with a smile, say they are doing fine, and just keep going. Yet I will visit in the homes of people in their 30’s and they are just so tired, so hurting in their joints they just can’t get out. What is the difference? Some are self-centered and some have their focus on the Lord.
