Phil 2:1-4 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
KJV
How few times do we find one today who actually looks to the needs of others before themselves? The Bible says that we ought to look not on our own things, but on the things of others. This is not talking about possessions, it is talking about needs. Most of the lives of people today are consumed with self, what I want, what I need, what others can do for me and so on. Because of that self centered way of thinking many are robbed of what they could be doing for the Lord in the area of serving others. When was the last time you did something for someone just because they had a need? It doesn’t have to be with a gift of money, it could be with a gift of time. It could be helping with a house repair, helping in any area, but just being a help. Far too often we are looking for those who can help us instead of looking to be a help to others. We could do as little as spending time in prayer for and with someone, just to be a help and if by blessing God puts us in a position to help in other ways we can do that as well. Look to the needs of others today.
