Isa 57:15
15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
KJV
Revival. What is revival, why do we need it, and why should we want it? If something is revived it is brought back to life, rekindled. Revival is not something for the dead but for the living. It could be said that the Christian ought to be in a constant stat of revival and I tend to agree with that statement. But that also means that the christian is constantly going through a series of ups and downs in his or her Christian life and that is true as well. This world, Satan, our flesh is at all times at war with our spiritual well being if that is the way I could put it. There is a battle going on within every child of God and there are times when we do not win the fight, thus the need to be revived. We see above that God does want to revive His children but we also see there are only certain ones who will be revived, the humble and contrite ones. I want to look at revival this week. Not church revival, individual revival, how we can be in a constant state of revival in our lives. If you don’t think revival is needed take this day and look at yourself, make it a day of self examination. How much are you given to spiritual things throughout the day, do you begin the day with the Lord, walk with Him through the day, end the day with the Lord? How close are you to the Lord? How are you being used of God? Are you usable? Do you need revival?
