22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.
Very often as Christian we live with an eye towards others and their relationship with the Lord while never looking at ourselves and our relationship with the Lord. Peter was concerned with what John would do, how would John end up, that is until Jesus asked this question of Peter, “What is that to thee?” When peter stood before the Lord in heaven and gave an account of his life for service, what John did, where John went, how John ended would have nothing to do with Peter and his accountability to God. Often we find ourselves looking at others and thinking that “They will answer for that one day” and all the while our relationship with the Lord, our service, our faithfulness is lacking. It is not wrong to identify evil, not wrong to point out where man had turned away from God, but we also need to be aware of our standing with God, that is what we will give an account for, not for others but for ourselves.
