1 Cor 15:57-58
57 But thanks be to God , which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. This is of course Thanksgiving week. I want to challenge you today to think and meditate upon what you have to be thankful for. Make a list in your mind or on paper of what you have to be thankful for. Both big things and small; what do you have to be thankful for? For most people this list will be made up of things of this world, home, possessions, bank account and so on. But do you realize that even those things we would not have apart from the mercy and grace of Jesus Christ? My friend we have noting apart from Jesus Christ. Do you thank Him for what you have? Many will say yes but do we really? We say thank you from time to time but are we reall thankful? Did you show Him your thanks in the way you lived last week? In the way you put Him first in your heart and life? In the way you were in God’ house when the doors were open. In the way you followed Him? Did you show Him thanks last week? Or is it lip service. Stop and think of what you have to be thankful for and then ask yourself if you are.
