Gen 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Matt 24:32-33 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Another summer begins today, or yesterday it began. I often wonder how many more summers there will be. Summers are looked upon differently as one grows older. When we were children they were anticipated greatly. No school, playing with friends in the neighborhood, riding bikes, baseball, sleeping out, at least that is how my summers were spent as a boy. Then one grows older had has a family and still summers are anticipated, but for different reasons. Family time at night, family vacation, watching your youngsters playing ball or marching in parades. Now older still and summer is not such a special time as it used to be. Time to work, some time to rest, less time to play as family has grown and they have other things to do with their summer. How many more summers will there be? One thing that has never changed and never will, God is over all and God is to be served in every season, summer, winter, springtime and fall. Summer is still a time to serve the Lord and do His will. Today we start another summer and I hope it will be one of serving the Lord.
