John 13:1-5
13:1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him;
3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.Have you ever stopped to think of what Jesus is willing to do for you? Die for you yes, but you who are already saved, do you ever stop to think of what Jesus is willing to do for you? Here is the Lord of Glory, the Messiah of Israel, the creator of the world, the Almighty God stooping before the disciples to wash their feet. Think of that and whose feet Jesus was about to wash. There was Peter who in a few hours would curse His name. There was Judas who in a few hours would betray Him with a kiss. Yet Jesus would wash their feet. This action of the Lord would drive Peter to weep bitter tears at what he did in denying Jesus and Judas to the grave.
This is what Jesus is willing to do for you. How are you treating Jesus? Will you honor Him with your actions today or betray Him? Think of what Jesus is willing to do for you.
