Cor 1:18-25 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

April 1, April Fools Day. It is a day marked by practical jokes and most of us will try and fool someone today, hopefully is a harmless fashion. The Bible has a lot to say about fools in a negative way and a lot to say about foolishness. This morning I want to look at some verses about foolishness in a positive way, the foolishness of preaching and believing what we hear from God. So many look at the Bible and Bible preaching as foolishness and to the lost it is. How can we base our belief on something written thousands of years ago, place our faith is something that happened thousands of years ago, follow someone we have never seen with our eyes, never handled with our hands and so on? We can because that which we believe is true that which we place our faith in is true and the one we believe in is alive today. Foolishness the world says, someone like that is a real April Fool. But our faith in Christ, our belief in the Bible makes us wiser than the wisest on earth today, the foolishness of God is wiser than men. Happy April Fools Day.
