Num 22:4-6
4 And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.
5 He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me:
6 Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed.

The world is distressed because of the believer in Christ as we noted yesterday. Now take note of what they fear, that the people of God will rise up and take over everything in this world. Balak feared that Israel would rise up and take over his land, that Israel would prevail against him. That was not the intention of Israel, Israel was headed to the Promised Land, Balak was afraid of something that was not in God’s purpose for Israel. The world really has nothing to fear of the Christian in the same sense. It is not the intention of the Christian or the purpose of God for the Christian to take over this world. Remember this world is not our home, we are pilgrims passing through. We are to serve Jesus Christ, to live for Him, to witness for Him and to lead others to a saving knowledge of Christ, we ought not move away from the purpose of God for us in this world. But we have no desire to take over the lives of the lost, to take over governments, to rule the world, that is not the purpose of God for the Christian. Many are distressed over the Christian and they have no reason to be. But if we introduce Christ to the lost, they repent and get saved, lives are then better and the world is changed. What is to be distressed about?
