Ps 56:1-4 Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.
2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.
3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Some of the shortest verses in the Bible carry the greatest meaning and blessing to the child of God. Notice Psalm 5:3 above. There are many things in this life that can cause one to fear. Even as I sit here at my desk this morning I can count many, many things that can bring fear into our lives, as a Pastor I am no different than those who may be reading today, there are daily fighting in our lives. (Ps 56:1) These can wear an individual down to the point they feel as if they are all alone, that things have piled up to the point that there will never be any escape. Yet the Bible tells us that we have one we can trust in, one who can take away all fear. And when God takes something away from us He always has something to replace it with. Fear can be replaced with hope, worry with peace, doubts and fear with assurance and understanding. But we need to trust in Him always. Not just when times are good, but in every situation, ever circumstance, morning, noon and night, we need to trust Him. Can you do that today? The easy answer is yes, but the test comes during the trials of this life.
