December 3rd, 2014 by Pastor SolleyJer 33:1-3 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
2 Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name;
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Have you ever stopped to count the things that you ask God for? Often as I am praying or have finished praying I think of how many things I ask God for and it amazes me that not only is God interested in what I need, but He is also willing to move on my behalf, that He will answer me and even go beyond what I have need of or asked for. There are great and mighty things available to the believer in Christ! One problem that we have is that we are often so shallow in our prayers and our prayer life. (I know that is a problem that I often have.) Not that we do not pray, or that we do not believe, or even that we do not expect from God, but that we are shallow. Often this is seen in our lack of prayer, or time spent in prayer. It is also seen in our narrow scope in prayer as we are often self consumed. Yet our God is the maker of all, He established all, and He preserves all. This same God is willing to move when we call upon Him. Think of that for a moment and ask yourself if you are given to prayer as you should be, see if you are lacking or shallow in your prayers and your prayer life. If the answer is yes then it is time to do something about it, not tomorrow, today. Your Savior wants to hear from you today, will you call upon Him?
