Tim 2:19-22
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour , sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.Within any house there are different types of vessels. Some of gold, some of wood. Which would you rather have? If someone were to offer you something made of gold or something made of wood, which would you rather have? We would take the gold would we not? Which do you think God would rather have? Which do you think God would rather His children be? The above passage is spiritual of course. It is speaking of the child of God in the family or house of God. Which are you today? Are you gold in the house of God or are you wood. The choices we make each day determine the type of vessels we become. Some things are not bad in and of themselves but when they take us away from what we know we should do, where we should be, and take away from our testimony they are wood and earth. They will lead to dishonor. Make golden choices today, make golden choices tomorrow, let them lead you to a place of honor in the house of God. Let them make you gold in God’s house.
