September 12th, 2014 by Pastor SolleyPs 19:7-11 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
This morning I would direct your attention to the true and righteous judgments of the Lord. (Verse 9) There are many things in this world we do not understand, many injustices in our eyes. Why do the righteous suffer when the wicked seem to prosper is a question that goes all the way back to the Psalms that the Holy Spirit used David to write and a question that is still unanswered today. Yet the answer is right before us, the judgments of God are true and righteous, God does all things well, does nothing wrong, and His Word is proof of that. In the plan and program of God we are not to understand all, we are to trust and obey as the song proclaims. If this world is really not my home, if my treasure is really laid up beyond the blue, if my heart is in heaven and my desire is to do His will, then all I need do is trust His Word and obey His Word. I need to remind myself through the reading of His Word that God is always right. Joseph may have wondered what God was doing for many years, but he found out God does all things well. Daniel may have wondered, but he found out God does all things well. Things are no different today as we wonder over the circumstances and events of our lives, why the injustice we may ask, but in the end we will find out that God does all things well. Why not just live in that now and save ourselves a lot of wonder and sleepless night?
