Ps 19:7-14 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Tow more things this morning that the Bible will do for those who are given to it, for those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ and with salvation in Christ the Holy Spirit within. The Bible will bring rejoicing to the heart of God’s people. (Verse 8) It will bring joy, real joy and rejoicing to the heart of the redeemed. Look into the eyes of people today, the one thing most people lack is real joy. Doctors and medical companies are making millions and millions of dollars today on people who are depressed, despondent, and just discouraged. They give out this pill to fight depression, and then this pill to fight the side effects of that pill, and them more pills and more pills. When I am preaching and look into the eyes of God’s people I see much discouragement and a lack of joy. One reason is a lack of God’s Word being a real part of lives today, even the lives of professing Christians. People say they love the Bible, love the Word, but ignore it day by day, are indifferent to the Bible, and walk a pathway of their own choosing. If we would be consistent in reading our Bibles everyday, meditation on the Word of God, our eyes would be opened, enlightened. (Verse 8) With open eyes opened by the Holy Spirit we gain understanding of the plan and purpose of God for our lives, and that understanding brings joy, causes our hearts to rejoice in the Lord. Do you need a “Pick me up” today, do you need encouraged, do you need understanding? Then today begin to spend time in His Word.
