Ex 14:19-20 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

Our week of camp begins this morning and we ask of God the same thing that He gave to Israel as they came out of Egypt, a cloud to cover and protect us, light to guide us through the week. Two things every Christians needs, light to guide, and protection from the world. As Israel came out of Egypt they were a people who knew not where they were going. They had a final destination in mind, but it would be a winding road that would take them there, they needed light for guidance. God provided that light. They also needed protection, protection from Egypt which would follow them, and protection from the nations they would pass through. God provided both in the pillar of fire and cloud. So we need today to walk in His light, and be protected by His mighty hand as we walk through this world of sin on the way to our Promised Land, on the way to heaven. We will welcome about 40 campers this morning along with counselors who will care for them in the cabins, kitchen staff, a nurse, and several others who will help where needed. We do need your prayers this week. Pray for safety for those who will be with us, a good spirit to be felt in the camp, for our missionary to be led by the Holy Spirit, and for Jesus Christ to be glorified. I will post this week about the camp and the happenings there.
