Ps 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps 27:7-8 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. 8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.

One reason the Lord took fear away from David was because of what David gave to the Lord. David gave his whole heart to the Lord, nothing was held back, he was a man who sought the Lord. So many today who claim to know Jesus give precious little of themselves to Jesus. I talk to people all the time who tell me they are Christians, yet never darken the door of a church, know little about the Bible because they do not read it, have no prayer life to speak of, and do nothing for Christ. Are they Christians? Only God knows the answer to that, but what I do know is that they have no peace or rest, they lack the very things that God wants to give us in this life. David gave all of himself to the Lord. Perhaps if we gave more of self to God, God would take more fear from us.
