Judg 6:12-13
12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.Don’t we often feel the way that Gideon did? Even if we do not voice it we wonder at times where are the miracles of God. On Sunday I will preach on seeing the miracles of God. Gideon was a man who needed and wanted to see miracles. Yet they were or seemed to be hidden from him. If we want to see the miracles of God we need to give God an opportunity to work them. When the angel found Gideon he was doing things in secret, under cover of darkness. In order for God to work a miracle in his life he needed to stand up for the Lord. He needed to begin to serve. He needed to make a real commitment to his God. Often the miracles of God may seem to be lacking in our lives for the very same reason. We need to give God the opportunity to work.
