Something else about our words, people often make promises that they never keep. If our words are remembered, if they are important, that means we need to keep our word. Yet how many times do we say things we never follow through with? The Bible says that we would be better off not making a promise, not taking an oath, that we don’t follow through with. People remember the things you promise to do, the things you will say you will do, and then never get around to. Another words for this is a lie and God hates liars. There are many things that can keep us from doing what we promise to do at times, things outside our control. We would be better off making a few promises and keeping them than making many and keeping a few. What have you promised God you would do in the past, yet today you have failed to keep? For most of us there are things we are not faithful in keeping. Yet one thing we know, God is faithful to us and God is faithful to His Word. Whatever you have promised you need to keep.
