Daily Devotions

Rom 10:14-15 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

As we have observed over he past few days our words can do great harm and we will be held accountable for them. Today we see that they also can do great good. What would the preacher be saying in our text, what would the words coming out of his or her mouth be? He or she is spreading the gospel message, telling others about Jesus Christ. We are as believers the sent ones. The great commission was not for those standing before Jesus alone but for every child of God of every generation, we have a message to tell to the lost. When we speak for Christ, when we share the news of Jesus Christ and His death, burial and resurrection with the lost, when we speak of sin and repentance, of salvation and forgiveness, of what takes the lost sinner from hell to heaven, we speak beautiful words. Those words are as well heard by God and recorded. We can do great harm with our words, but we can also do great good. Do good with what comes out of your mouth today.
