May 19th, 2014 by Pastor SolleyActs 2:42-47 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
We begin our two day Bible conference this morning looking at seeking the presence and the will of God, and we pray for a good time in the Lord for the next few days. One thing the conference does is allow those of like precious faith to gather and fellowship one with another. It is hard to find those you are in agreement with today if one chooses to obey the Bible. Yet we find in our text this morning that we are to continue steadfastly in doctrine. That was not only the testimony of that first local church, but an example of what we are to be doing today. Doctrine is important, obedience is important, a walk with Christ Jesus is important. In our day many look past those things in order to limit taking a stand on what is right, to limit the battle for truth and faith. Yet we find that the first thing the local church was noted for was a steadfast stand on doctrine.
