Matt 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
John 18:9 That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
Time to get lost this morning. Jesus used the word “Lost” several times in the gospels, the first and last times are the reading for this morning. But what of being lost, why or how should a person get lost? Getting lost is the last thing that most people want to do and at the same time one of the most important things for a person to do. We need to get lost in three areas. (1) Get lost in a person, get lost in Jesus Christ. (Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.) Most of the problems of life that get us down can be eased if we would just look at Christ. Your life needs to be lost in His. (2) Get lost in people. (Phil 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.) When we do look around, look to the plight and needs of others. Be a people person and not a self person. (3) Get lost in a place. (John 14:2-3 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.) Our time in this world is short when held up to eternity. How loge will we live? I am now 55, some I know are above 90, some above 80, many above 70. But how long will we live in this world? No matter the number of years we live here it is a short time and eternity waits. Want to help your outlook in this world? Then get lost.
