I want to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving this morning. From year to year circumstances change in many lives. Years ago we would stop in at my wife’s home after prayer meeting and visit with her sister and family who were in for Thanksgiving and have a wonderful time. The next day after church in the morning we would go to mom’s for dinner and visit with her family, many of which would share Thanksgiving dinner or stop after. Then back to Dena’s home for the evening, a wonderful day. Many of those ones, Dena’s parents, mom, some of mom’s sisters, they are in heaven today and we miss them. Circumstances change through the years. Today I will visit people in the rest home who are praying to recover, no longer the large family gatherings on either side of the family, things change. But one who doesn’t change is Jesus, He is so good, so good to me, so good to all of us. His love never changes, His provision never changes, His presence always abides, Jesus never changes. The same one who blessed in years past is blessing today and we need to be thankful. Church this morning with a wonderful church family, lunch at my sister’s home, visiting with them and church folk as well. God is even going to allow my son and I to go hunting for a while with a family from the church. God is good and we have much to be thankful for today. Happy Thanksgiving.
