November 27th, 2013 by Pastor SolleyHeb 13:12-15 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. 14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
How few are they that offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually today? That is more of a statement than it is a question, yet that is what we are commanded to do. I went to see a younger man in a rest home last evening, he had just been admitted. I know he doesn’t want to be there, his family doesn’t want him there, and this is a hard time of year to be separated from home and family. Yet when I walked into the room he greeted me with a smile, a handshake, and an attitude that is a blessing. “This is where I am supposed to be” he said, “So might as well make the best of it”. We talked for a while, shared the Word of God and prayed, all the while there were no question of why, or what is the Lord doing, or what will happen, just a sweet peace and spirit. “Thanks for coming brother, drive safe and take care” were the words that I heard walking out the door. It is not always easy to offer the sacrifice of praise to God, but it is always right. Thank man, that Christian will be a blessing to those around him and perhaps be used of the Lord to bring others to Christ. We need to be a thankful people.
