Ps 50:10-14 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. 11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. 12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof. 13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? 14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

As we see in our text this morning everything is the Lords, every beast, all the cattle, the mountains, the fields, everything in this world is the Lords. God owns all, has authority over all and that includes man. That being true, what can I possibly offer to Him? Yet I am to offer unto God thanksgiving according to verse 14. What can my offering of thanksgiving be? There are several things found in the Bible that make up an offering of thanksgiving unto the Lord. The first is faith, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, faith that takes one to his or her knees, faith that humbles, faith that causes one to turn from sin and turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and salvation. Jesus Christ paid a great price in providing the sacrifice for sin, His life was given, His blood was shed, He died and then rose again to provide salvation for all men. (2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.) To ignore God’s gift of salvation, to ignore Jesus Christ is the greatest example of ingratitude toward God that man can exhibit. But to accept God’s gift of salvation is a great show of thanksgiving, an offering of thanksgiving made to God. Thanksgiving is more than words, it is action and that first action needs to be receiving the Lord Jesus Christ within. Are you thankful today?
