Daily Devotions

Who or what is going to lead you today? As a Pastor I have many things to do this week, Bible Institute classes and nursing home ministry today, trip to Danville and door to door visitation tomorrow, prayer meeting Wednesday, Hospice work on Thursday, people in the church to visit, messages to study for, work around the house and the church, memorial service to get ready for on Saturday, hayride Saturday afternoon, there are many things to do. But who or what is leading me? Is it he Lord Jesus Christ that is leading, or is it the world and people who are leading me? All of us need to stop and ask ourselves that same question each day. If it is the Lord that is leading then I will stop and take the time to read His Word and pray, seek His guidance and His abiding presence each day. I will stop often during the day to pray, to ask for His strength for each task. If it is the Lord that is leading I will do all to walk after Him, to place Him ever before me. Of course if it the world that is leading then I will go about my task this week, perform my duty in a dry and mechanical way, just do my job with or without Him. We need to decide as Christians each day, who or what is going to lead me. If it is the Lord then our lives, our daily tasks will take on a new and different meaning. You can go to work today seeking His guidance, do all to His honor and glory, you can go to school seeking His guidance, do all to his honor and glory, you can allow Him to run your life. We all need to decide each day, who will lead us. His desire is to lead us in paths of His righteousness, let Him.
