Daily Devotions

14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. How important is the Word of God to the average Christian? We have before us, if we want it, the very words of the true and living God. We have before us, if we want it, the very voice and mind of God for us today. We have before us, if we want it, words to live by, grow by, serve by and stand faithfully by. We have before us, if we want it, the answer to every problem and trial of life. Yet more Christians are given to study other things rather than the Word of God. I wonder if people would record how much time they spend in the Bible and prayer each day how many would like to have that record on display or how many would be ashamed to have it seen.
Plan today to allow God to speak to your heart as you begin each day, to speak to God in prayer as you begin each day, to spend at least a few moments with God to start each day. Meditate upon what God gives to you. Study the Word of God. It is not important to read a volume each day, but it is important to allow God to speak to you.
