Daily Devotions

Ps 127:1-3 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

We began our week with 48 campers and expect to get two more this morning. It is a younger camp this year and it did begin in a very good way. The campers seem to be mixing well together and our evangelist is excited to be with us. Last evening we heard a message from James 1 about turning on your mind, opening your heart, and having a good attitude before God. It was a good message to begin our week. This morning we will have two chapel services and then one in the evening. We had visitors both from our church and other churches as well in the evening service last night. By 10:00 most of the campers went off to their cabins and by 10:30 the camp had quieted down for devotions. I sat outside in the pavilion until about 11:00 and all was well. It was a beautiful evening with stars filling the sky and I imagined angels camping about us protecting us. Pray for us again today as we ask God to get hold of the hearts of these young boys and girls.
