Acts 26:19-20 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: 20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

When repentance is present and salvation is genuine good works do follow. It is Jesus that said a person is known by the fruit of their life. The Bible clearly states that when a person is saved that old things pass away and all things become new. This is the fruit produced by a regenerated heart, a heart touched by Jesus Christ when He washed our sins away in His blood. Repentance is a work to God not man, and bears fruit produced by God in a life. When there is no change, no fruit whatsoever in a life then something is wrong. How can a Christian having the Spirit of God within have no desire for the things of God? That would seem to be impossible would it not? I am not claiming that every child of God will be at the same place spiritually, that all will grow at the same rate, that all will produce the same fruit. But there should be at least some fruit meet for repentance in a life saved by the blood of the Lamb. When one turns to God there are at least some fruits, some works meet for repentance for repentance will produce them in the Christian by the power of God.
