reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. 14 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. 15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God.

The last prophetic statement from Amos is one of restoration. Israel will one day repent of sin and turn to the Lord and then they will be restored. That day is still in the future, even though they are in the Land that God gave them, even though they are established as a nation, they still have a hard heart of disobedience toward God. One day that will change, Israel will acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Messiah, repent of their sin as a nation and turn to Him, then they will have complete restoration as a nation in the land. The same thing can be true of the Christian when we falter, and we all falter from time to time. When we repent and confess, when we acknowledge that sin before God, when we cry out to Him He hears us, forgives us, cleanses us, and restores us. A Christians should read the book of Amos putting themselves in the book. In Amos Israel caused all of their problems, brought them on themselves. How often do we do the same today? There are times we need to repent and then we will be restored.
