Daily Devotions
February 25th, 2013 by Pastor SolleyMark 6:30-32 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. 31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. 32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
This is a very busy world in which we live, people coming and going all the time. Here we see that same thing in Jesus’ day, people coming and going. That is the point of the devotional this morning; where are you going? Is there much to do, are you on your way to work or school, have a doctor to see today, is there some shopping you must get done, where are you going today? Most will have someplace they must be, someplace they must go. For this preacher it will be a day at Bible Institute, followed by cutting some wood, then a service at the nursing home this evening. It will be a busy day, there is much to do. But what happens when we are so busy we have no time to spend with Jesus? What happens when there is no time for the most important thing in our day? Then it is time to make time. Jesus took the disciples apart with Him so they could be alone with Him because that is exactly what they needed. It is just what we need today. In your busy day take time to pray and speak to the Lord, take time to be in His Word and allow Him to speak to you, take time in meditation upon the things of God and allow the Holy Spirit to direct your path. You then will find rest and peace in this busy day.
