1 Tim 3:15-16 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

What is the “Church” to you? Many today find little use for the church in this fast paced world of ours, too many things that appeal to the flesh to be concerned with something that feeds the spirit and soul. Take last night for example, attendance was down in most church because of a football game. In our area many churches change their service times on “Super Sunday” so people can see the big game. At Cherry Corner we continued on as normal and we had a good service last night, but yes, our attendance was down. Yet what should the church be to you? There are a few things in our text. This morning I want to point out that the church is a product of the “Living God”. The church was created by God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. – Matt 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. The church houses the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. – Matt 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
The church is loved by Jesus. – Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; The church is where Christians are commanded to be found. – Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. With that and so much more in the Bible I believe the church is very important to God and thus should be important to every child of God. Think about your local church this morning and ask yourself, how important is my church to me? It is the church of the “Living God”.
