Daily Devotions

Col 3:16-17 6 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

As a Christian do you realize that you take Jesus with you wherever you go, whatever you do? A simple truth but one that is often forgotten or ignored. There is a battle going on within you right now, one between the Holy Spirit and Satan, a battle over you. Like he did with Peter Satan desires to have you, to sift you like wheat. Like He has with ever blood bought child of God the Holy Spirit desires to have you as well. To fill you with the fullness of His presence, to lead you in the pathway of God, to use you to bring glory to Jesus Christ and the lost to salvation. It is a pitched battle my friend. Even now this preacher in the flesh wants to do other things this morning, wants to watch the news, see the sport scores and so on, yet time would be better spent in the Word of God and in prayer. Who will win throughout this day is the question. You will fight the battle as you arrive at work, as you go through this day and into the night. Will you listen to the dirty jokes and laugh, will you listen as others take the name of the Lord in vain and say nothing, will you fit in with the world? Or will your actions set you apart, will you do all in the name of Jesus today? There is a battle going on within, let us fight well for Jesus.
