Jer 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

As we consider the year about to end we will look for the next few days at the “Old paths”. People today are always looking for change it seems, always looking for a better way, a new way. That is not always a bad thing when we consider the advances made in medicine and such things. But is it always a good thing? We know the answer to that is no. It is not a good thing when we make it easier for the lost and depraved to prey on the weak and innocent. Child porn has always been present in society I suppose, but it has been made available to all, all the time through the internet and home PC. The news media has had a prominent voice for many, many years, but seldom have they so glamorized the criminal in the way that they do today. They push and agenda that promotes the homosexual and aims to tear down the Christian. They have trained people to call evil good and good evil. Facebook sells the idea that all have to be liked all the time or something is wrong so then the Christian using it seldom takes a stand on anything. We see in our text verse that people have no desire to walk in the old paths, in the old ways. But what are the old paths and the old ways and why should we seek them? Stop today and give some meditation to the old paths and more will be coming tomorrow.
