2 Cor 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
It is an unspeakable gift because God sent His Son, Jesus Christ into this world to save sinners like me. Unspeakable because Jesus will save all who call upon Him, none are left out. Unspeakable because Christ and Christ alone will keep all who call upon Him for salvation for all eternity.
His gift is unspeakable because of what it, because of what he is taking us to. John 14:1-6
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The Christian is heaven bound, this world is not our home, we have a mansion waiting for us in heaven prepared by Jesus Christ. The Bible goes into great detail in describing hell, but not heaven. The reason being that the words that would describe heaven are unspeakable. – 2 Cor 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. No words could give us a picture of what heaven is going to be like, we are just given hints of heaven in the Bible. Streets of gold, no more pain, no more sin, no more troubles, forever in the presence of Jesus are just a few of the things we know. Stop today and try and imagine heaven and you will give thanks to God for His unspeakable gift.
