2 Chron 7:14-16 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

God gave to Israel the formula for revival in these verses and if followed they would be a people separated unto the Lord God. What a sad truth of the nation that they would not follow God’s formula for revival. Not long after this passage was given the nation began to turn away from the Lord. Yes, it was Solomon that had his heart turned away from God by his many wives, but notice who God called to humble themselves, to pray, to seek His face, and to turn from their wicked ways. It was the people of the land, it was “My people”. America is in trouble today, but the burden of revival does not fall upon our leaders, it falls upon the people of God. Do we as Christians really want revival in the land, do we want the nation to turn for these wicked ways, do we really want to get back to what the nation was founded upon? If so then we need to follow verses 16, the burden is on the people of God.
