Col 3:15-17 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

I was able to speak to a young person last evening who is having quite a lot of trouble in their life at this time. They have not been saved that long, just about two years, and they are fighting the battle with Satan as we all do. In talking to them and trying to identify the specific area that is causing them so much trouble I asked what type of music they listen to. I had never met this person before, but there was something keeping them in the world and hindering them giving all to Christ. The answer was music, “I listen to rock music”. Satan will keep a hold on a life any way that he can and one of the most successful tools that he has is music. After just a few moments that young person could see that if one fills their heard with the music of the world, with the music of the devil, that God is going to have a hard time speaking to the heart. That is so simply, yet how many can’t see that the music they listen to effects their spiritual life and even their usefulness to the Lord. The Bible clearly points out the type of music we are to listen to in our text this morning. Who is glorified by the music you listen to?
