12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.Isn’t is something how the people who are looked up to the most in this world always let you down. The President of the United States inviting people to the White House to sit down and have a beer and settle our differences. Why doesn’t that bother people? Young men are dying in two wars, the economy going south, crime in our nation out of control, but he has time to set a bad example and sit and drink on the White House lawn. But no one cares.
Another sports figure, our beloved Big Ben in a sex case in the courts and news. He was having illicit sex in a hotel room with a woman not his wife, but no one cares. I see the people that are looked up to by the world letting others down all the time. And no I don’t look up to our President or Big Ben but most people do.
Yet there is one you can look to who will never let you down. Who will never lower the standard, who will always be pure, holy and right. We can look to the Lord Jesus Christ. Why not look to Him today, everyday as the one you love and admire.
